Sanct Antonius

Here is an exploration into a macabre side of christianity. Inspired by the bejeweled skeletons that rome sent to german catholics to reignite their faith, by showing them the potential glory awaiting in the afterlife, I started designing, building and texturing my own adorned relic.

every single part of this sculpture was shaped from primitives (cylinders, cubes, spheres). from the winged helmet to the smallest bone or rose petal. I sculpted in zbrush, a program that has plenty of tools, but feels intuitive and smooth in its use. Texturing was done in Adobe Substance 3D Painter.
